Guided-Imagery Hypnosis
TMJ and Bruxism
Can guided-imagery hypnosis really make a difference with TMJ and bruxism?
TMJ and bruxism affects a great portion of adults. It is estimated anywhere from 50 to 95%. It is caused by an activation of the chewing reflex. Bruxism actually includes clenching and/or grinding of the teeth.
Over time this can actually shorten or blunt the end of the teeth where the grinding occurs and this may lead to pain in the jaw.
How do I know this?
Well, in the past I have had problems with bruxing, just like most of you. It eventually contributed to my TMJ problems.
TMJ is actually the temporomandibular joint, but when talking about what happened to me it affected my neck and back in addition to my jaw and mouth. I also had problems with headaches. It most often occurs during sleep, even during naps.

I am a trained hypnotherapist and massage therapist and developed relaxation CDs designed to help with this problem. I even tried them out on myself and you know what?
THEY WORK!
Bruxing Day Time
Bruxing Night Time
Warm Relaxation Nite
If you are like the estimated thirty to forty million Americans who grind their teeth at night, why not give yourself the gift of relaxation.
